Executive and Team Descriptions

Journal Coordinator:

Responsibilities:

  • Compile and design the fall and spring issues of the journal
  • Oversee the illustration process
  • Attend executive and team meetings throughout the term

Desired skills & experience:

  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good design sense
  • Familiarity with WordPress and Adobe InDesign is preferred but not required

Submissions Coordinator:

Responsibilities:

  • Anonymize, track, and organize all TGS submissions on Google Drive
  • Respond to all submissions with a form email, and send a form email to rejected submissions
  • Attend executive and team meetings throughout the term

Desired skills & experience:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Google Drive
  • Familiarity with WordPress is preferred but not required

Marketing Coordinator:

Responsibilities:

  • Post simultaneously on Instagram and Facebook to promote to the undergraduate student audience
  • Able to attend online and in-person meetings

Desired skills & experience:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use and produce graphics through Canva

Editors:

Responsibilities:

  • Attend team meetings throughout the term
  • Review and provide feedback on submissions
  • Edit two to three pieces per issue

Desired skills & experience:

  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Exemplary attention to detail
  • Open to providing and receiving constructive feedback
  • Strong sense of time management

Illustrators:

Responsibilities:

  • Attend team and illustrator meetings throughout the term
  • Illustrate one to two pieces per issue

Desired skills & experience:

  • Ability to conform to deadlines and guidelines
  • Open to providing and receiving constructive feedback
  • Strong sense of time management
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is an asset
